Home Made Finger Paints

I needed some paint that was non toxic to do arts and crafts with Matt.  I know he is not even a year but i really want him to be creative in what ever medium he chooses and the best way for that is to expose him to all sorts of stuff.

and frankly the craft that i wanted to do was UBER COOL (tomorrows post sorry!)

SO i looked up the recipe for finger paint (have you seen the cost of art supplies these days? its crazy! the play-dough alone is like $5 when Michelle was small you could get bigger cans for just $1!

anyhow i digress....

One batch makes enough goo to color all theses jars. Now Steve and I  went  to get creative with neon colors BUT the colors just didn't NEON like they did with doing eggs....

SO  my advice on this recipe ...
don't bother with crazy colored food coloring, use the normal colors and let the fun make the shades (of course i did have to have purple.....)

Finger Paint
3 tab sugar
1/2 tea salt
1/2 cup corn starch
2 cups water

Boil stirring constantly to avoid lumping transfer to jars or containers (i used old Baby food jars) add food coloring for pigment Let cool and enjoy the fun!
