Minion hat..


I made this Hat for Matt to be a minion from the movie "despicable me" for those of you who have not yet seen this movie i posted a picture of what a minion is...

now ts just the yellow shirt and a pair of coveralls and bingo a halloween costume!

I separated the main hat from the decorations in case someone wants to make a plain hat for themselves this is a very easy hat pattern that i worked up myself for another hat that i made for Matthew. totally customizable for adults or older children.



MAIN HAT

  1. (YELLOW) Chain 4 join w/ slip stitch
  2. Chain 2, 2 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch
  3. Chain 2, 2 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch
  4. Chain 2, 1 half double crochet in 4 stitches, 2 (increase) in 5th ; repeat to end of row, join w/ slip stitch
  5. Chain 2, 1 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch
  6. Chain 2, 1 half double crochet in 4 stitches, 2 (increase) in 5th ; repeat to end of row, join w/ slip

Continue this pattern until you get hat to the proper size at widest part of head…

START TO DECREASE

  1. Chain 2, 1 half double crochet in 4 stitches, decrease the 5th and 6th to one stitch; repeat to end of row, join w/ slip stitch
  2. Continue this pattern until you get the size hat you need. The finial row you may need to adjust how many decreases you do to get the correct snug fit you desire. Finish off with a pull thorough knot.

Minion Goggle

  1. (BROWN) Chain 4 join w/ slip stitch
  2. Chain 2, 2 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch tie off
  3. (WHITE) join on Chain 2, 2 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch tie off
  4. (BLACK) join on Chain 1, 2 half double crochet in each stitch, join w/ slip stitch attach to main hat with slip stitch
  5. Chain 10 slip stitch onto hat being certain to stay on same row continue to Chain 10 slip stitch onto hat until you come back to goggle. Leave enough tail to stitch around goggle.
  6. Stuff goggle with fiber fill, use tail to stitch around goggle be careful not to rotate goggle. Tie off.
