Check your sheets!

If you are prone to reading if you wake too early in the morning as I am. Make certain when you decide to wash your sheets that you have not left a book in your bed.

especially a borrowed book.

I borrowed this book from my mother - in - law. Now I get to buy her a new book, because it didn't do so well in the washer.

The worst part? It is raining all day and I would LOVE to read.... but my book is all wet, and the replacement wont be in till Monday.

Lets try to Quilt!

I have been trying to get this project started for a while, but I wanted to have it be stiffer and have a liner. My sister suggested that I quilt the fabric prior to making the bag.

So I have it all basted (it has taken two weeks due to circumstances) but I am ready to try to quilt the fabric. this will be my first time quilting anything.

Wish me luck!

I was hospitalized last week for dehydration, and to "prep " for Chemo. I am sorry that I really have no craft to post about at this time. I hope i dont make a habit of this!

prize winners

Since I have been quite ill this week I gotta tell you I have not had much time to do any crafting. But I thought this would be a good time to show you some of the things I have done in the past.

This is a stained ceramic piece. I entered it in the County fair last year and won a blue ribbon on it. I have a "sister" to it that is waiting to be painted. perhaps I can get to that once I get some treatments under my belt.

Home Early

I came home early because my biopsy went remarkably well. very noninvasive and quickly. I was sitting in my car to go home by 10:30 when we were prepared to be there until 2 pm or so.

My Doctor says this looks to him like Hodgkin's Disease. This is VERY good news.

All of my prayers were answered today

ruffle

This is the ruffle I am putting on my blanket. here is the formula:
chain 3, double crochet 5 in first opening. skip next opening, chain one double crochet 5 repeat until you get to the end. I think it makes a nice ruffle. If you don't skip the second opening, all you get is a double crocheted border by skipping it that gives the the separation you need to "frill"

first round

after sewing the two pieces together now i needed to get a round done along that sewn line. my normal "G" hook wouldn't go through. so i had to resort to my largest thread hook which was a 10. i did a single crochet to pick up my sewn stitch and a chain in between.

this puts a good solid border on it that i could do anything with.
