Hair turbans

MY daughter loves to wrap her hair up in a turban after getting out of the shower. I have bought her a few of the "twist" kinds but they were very thin and didnt absorb really well. Well today I made some out of the last towels I had replaced. The edges of the towels had become ratty and had holes in the decorative part, but the main "drying" part was still good so I had saved them "in case". Turns out for this project they worked really well.

All new turbans and no cost but the hour it took to make them!

fleece quilt top?

After I was given MANY squares that were left over from No Sew Fleece Blankets I thought "How can I use these scraps?" Quilters never throw away fabric. They use everything, and my sister has been trying to get me to quilt for almost as long as she has been trying to get me to make Linus Blankets, so why not quilt the fleece?

Well I have quilters on both sides of my family. All of them told me. Fleece stretches too much! You'll hate it! It will be a big pain!

But I have never been one to do things the easy way or the "conventional" way. Last night I finished my first fleece quilt top. I need yet to put on enough border and get fleece for the back as I am planning on using this to make another "no sew fleece blanket" except I guess it wont be no sew will it? LOL!

Blankets!

For those of you who do not know me, I had a security blanket while I was a child, and I still have one that I will drag out when I am not feeling well. which is why I have started making Project Linus Blankets. that and my sister has been on my back for YEARS! But shes right its a great cause and if I can use my crafting to help then certainly I will. You will be hearing plenty about this cause later on.

its tuesday again

My daughter is doing her senior project as a color guard camp. and since I rarely work on tuesdays. I have been drafted as the "color guard mom". So for an hour and a half on tuesdays I hang out with 15 or so teenagers and take snapshots of their practices. not really exciting, but I can get some great action shots. This is two of the experienced kids practicing rifles.
